For a while I've been looking for someone to do an undercut style for me. Unfortunately the stylist I used to go to didn't seem to understand what that was. She kept doing more of a feminine style even though I expressly told her I wanted something more masculine. I know she wondered why but considering the conversations I've over heard about transphobia (I'm ftm) I couldn't bring up anything. Nor could I bring myself to go back there again. I was nervous when I went in because, well...I still look pretty feminine, but no one seemed to question anything, not even when I mentioned the style I wanted. I took off my beanie, showed him the mess that she made of my hair, and he did his best to fix it. It looked amazing. I've gone there two more times since and I'll continue to go.
